The Turkish Motifs pillow originally appeared in the January 2003 issue of the now sadly no longer published House & Garden Magazine. For me - a real shelter magazine groupie - it was one of the most exciting things to happen for me professionally as a designer. To have two of my pillows featured as a hot trend in HG was awesome to say the least! The other pillow pictured is the Field of Diamonds Pillow Pattern available on this website too.

The Turkish Motifs pillow combines many different knitting techniques to create a true masterpiece of color and texture. The pillow is knit in the round with steeks. Working a chart like this in the round is much easier than working it back and forth. Trust me.
The project is knit in worsted weight wool yarn. Techniques you will learn:
•How to follow a chart
•Two-color Fair Isle
•Duplicate stitch
•Mitered corners
•Embroidery on knits

This pillow is a fabulous vehicle to increase your knitting skills and mastery of new techniques. You will be rewarded with an heirloom-quality piece of decorative needlework for your home.

Skill Level:A skill stretcher for adventurous intermediate knitters.
