Knit PDF - On The Go Knitters Tote
$7.00 USD
As a knitter, I can never have enough bags for toting projects, yarn, my iPad and books. This tote begins with a large garter stitch rectangle. Using a circular needle, stitches are picked up at all four sides and the Fair Isle fun begins. The pattern I designed combines diamonds and zig zags into a graphic Fair Isle design. The edge is worked in a clever undulating border. When completed, embroidery and duplicate stitch are added to the pattern to really kick up the colorplay. See photos for before and after embroidery. I used sturdy leather handles from Homestead Heirlooms. I lined the bag in a pretty silk from my fabric stash.
This design was originally published in my book Color By Kristin by Sixth and Spring in 2009.
