Knit PDF - Felted Laptop Cozy
Wool is such an amazing fiber. For centuries it has been used not only for clothing but for insulation and padding. This laptop cozy begins with a garter stitch rectangle. Using a circular needle, stitches are picked up at all four sides and rounds of garter stitch are worked in different colors to create stripes. Then the Fair Isle fun begins with a graphic pattern for the central section of the cozy. A striped border is added. Stitches are bound off leaving just enough to create a flap that is worked back and forth. Once the piece is complete, it is run through a washing machine in a hot wash and cold rinse until it shrinks to the desired size. The extra bonus is that besides insulating, it also will protect a laptop somewhat in a tumble. Attach a closure of your choice -- buttons and loops, snaps, or velcro.
