Here's a sample schedule from one of the Weekend Retreats. Depending on the class content, each retreat will vary slightly. Class size is limited to six students making them an intimate learning experience.
Arrival at the farmhouse.
You will be greeted by Kristin and her family and have a farm tour given by Mark Duprey, Kristin's husband. Meet the sheep, chickens, and the working Border Collies Phoebe and Ness.
10:00 to 1:00
Slide show and introduction to color.
Tour of the farmhouse including Kristin's handpainted walls, artwork, and antique textiles and ceramics.
Beginning session will include introduction to the particular technique class is centered on.
1:00 to 2:00
Lunch Break featuring a lovely lunch of local farm raised produce.
2:00 to 5:30
5:30 to 6:30
Hayride through the hills surrounding Leyden Glen Farm.
6:30 to 7:00
Enjoy a glass of wine or cup of tea or coffee in the garden. Knit and relax with other students.
7:00 to 9:00
A lamb feast featuring a grilled leg of lamb grown on Leyden Glen Farm. Vegetarians will be accommodated; don't worry!
Arrival at the farmhouse
Have a cup of coffee or tea, sit and knit in the garden or on the porch while reviewing your newly learned techniques.
1:00 to 2:00
Informal Farmhouse Lunch
2:00 to 5:00
Includes students chance to have Kristin answer any questions they have about knitting and stitching. Students should bring with them a list of specific techniques and goals they would like Kristin to help them with!
